Elmwood Park Snow Removal
When there is a snow accumulation of 2 inches or more of snow on the streets in the Village, no parking will be allowed on odd numbered addresses (East and South Sides) on odd numbered dates, and even numbered addresses (West and North Sides) on even numbered dates between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
These restrictions shall not apply to vehicles parked on Harlem, Belmont, Grand or North Avenues.Failure to remove your vehicle will result in a violation of $50.00 per occurrence and will be towed at the owner’s expense.
The Village will notify residents when this snow related parking restriction is in effect via Blackboard, Facebook, and the Village’s Website www.elmwoodpark.org.(To sign up for Facebook and blackboard alerts, please visit the Village’s website.)
For example, if there is a 2 inch snowfall on December 2, the parking restrictions will go into effect the following day. On December 3, all vehicles must be moved on the odd address side of the street (ex: 2333 73rd CT) between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Then on the following day, December 4, all vehicles must be moved on the even address side of the street (ex: 2334 73rd CT) between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is being done so the Village can clear the streets from curb-to-curb within 2 work days following a snowfall.
**Please remember when there is a snowfall; these restrictions will take precedence over the street cleaning maintenance schedule.**
Please call the Public Works Department at 708-452-3945 for more details.
